About Us
Guided Walks New Zealand's philosophy is to give guests an interactive nature
experience - a hands on understanding of every component of New
Zealand's South Island wilderness.
Peter & Karyn have been guiding and instructing in the mountains and forests of New Zealand for the last decade, taking groups deep into the lush forests and high above the snow line into the pristine, untouched world of the alpine region. We have a vast knowledge of the flora, fauna, history and geology of this beautiful region. With the on-going assistance of Richard Bryant, a fourth generation local and the pioneer of Guided Walks New Zealand we have a huge source of information and history that is unavailable anywhere else.
It is our privilege to take you into some of the most beautiful and spectacular areas in the Queenstown region and show you what makes this such a special area. Our friendly, knowledgeable guides will make sure you have the time to enjoy the whole experience nature has provided.
We have chosen our range of snowshoe walks for their natural history, scenic beauty, remoteness and varied terrain. We are proud of our company's reputation for providing friendly, informative and personalized guided walks for small groups. We are working to make Guide Walks New Zealand's Snowshoeing trip the most memorable part of your New Zealand experience.
Our Guides
It goes without saying that it is essential to select the right guides in adventure tourism - guides that have the necessary skills, are cheerful, agreeable, and don't lose their enthusiasm or attention to detail when the tasks are repetitive.
Guided Walks New Zealand strives to select guides that have a unique and diverse set of qualifications - skills and knowledge bases that are diverse and that complement one another. For example, if the company requires a guide to provide photography trips, they ensure the guide is not only knowledgeable in photography, but that the guide also has an expert knowledge of the region and the surrounding environment.
The company prides themselves on the strengths of their guides, and finds that having a diversity of highly skilled and knowledgeable guides enables them to provide unique and high quality interpretation.
